Compressed earth blocks (CEB) are materials obtained when laterite soil is compressed. The physical and mechanical properties of CEB can be improved by adding a binder to the laterite soil, usually Portland cement, prior to compression and subsequent curing. This is the stabilisation process.

Commonly used format: 29,5×14×9,5cm

Raw materials: Laterite soil, cement or other binder (chemical or natural fibre) and water.

Processing: Mixing of raw materials, pressing and curing (at least 14 days).

Quality control; Water absorption, compression, size.
