Subject to the authority of a Head of Division, the Research & Scientific and Technical Services Division shall be responsible for :

• developing, implementing, supervising and assessing scientific research programmes and projects ;
• research, geographical location and estimation of local and innovative material deposits as well as determining parameters for their exploitation;
• innovation, scientific and technical services to MIPROMALO;
• coordinating all scientific research and innovation activities;
• research into multifunctional devices and components to increase the range of products;
• implementing and supervising a technological and scientific watch system;
• setting up and managing research programmes and teams
• contributing to the dissemination of research results, in conjunction with the other departments
• identifying funding mechanisms such as grants and incentive prizes in  the field of materials research in conjunction with the service in charge of cooperation ;
• monitoring the development of standards on materials
• assistance in the technical preparation of tender documents for research equipment, production equipment and other projects;
• the study, design and implementation of programmes for the valorisation of local and innovative materials, in conjunction with the departments concerned
• setting up and managing programmes, valorisation teams and pilot production units;
• putting labels and providing technical assistance for the standardisation of local and innovative material, in conjunction with the administrations concerned ;
• identifying and providing technical assistance to companies involved in production and construction of low-cost housing, using local and innovative material ;
• study and definition of specifications and technical characteristics of materials and constructions;
• managing the technical equipment stock.

It is made up of:

• the Department of Scientific Research ;
• the Department of Scientific and Technical Services.
